This counter shows off all of the day’s available treats, as well as various merchandise for sale. We got the signature guacamole, which also comes with house-made tortilla chips, cilantro, pico de gallo, charred-tomato salsa, and habanero verde. The food during the main part of my meal was all spectacular and we’re definitely excited to have a new dining option in Disney Springs. There are quite a few important points to discuss here. As an avid deviled egg fan and lover of all things potato, it was the perfect combination for me. They were fresh and bright with a little crunch from the relish — the perfect size to pop in your mouth and eat in one bite. You could definitely taste the potato, but it was blended into the mix really well. My one complaint is that you only get three half-eggs with your order.

The sugar cookie base wasn’t very exciting — just a pretty typical sugar cookie, even though it was fairly soft. I got a stack of six treats to try, starting with the Krispy Chocolate Chip Cookie for $5.45. It’s a chocolate chip cookie topped with pieces of their brown butter Rice Krispy treats. The chicken was absolutely delicious and I totally understand why they’re famous for it! It was moist and herbaceous with a little bit of char on the outside that I loved.

We’ve been not-so-patiently waiting for Summer House on the Lake to open in Disney Springs ever since it was first announced, and with each update and sneak peek, we got more and more excited. Despite that, it’s well-balanced and probably the most interesting drink we had — but it’s not for everybody. Despite it having soda, it doesn’t feel sticky. The texture is a little confusing but the flavor is delicious.

Another bar can be found toward the front of the restaurant. There’s also bar seating available that borders on the outdoor seating area. The interior of Summer House on the Lake is light and airy with plants, wicker chairs, and warm lights.

A drink menu features a large selection wine, beer, handcrafted cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks. A signature Rosé Cart offers options for Rosé fans, including the restaurant’s signature Summer House Rosé! The California-inspired menu, led by Chef Ben Goodnick, features simple ingredients sourced from local grower partnerships and sustainable products. Rosé is poured all day off the signature Rosé Cart, alongside an extensive wine and handcrafted cocktail list. And no matter the weather, the bright and airy vibes always fill the atmosphere.

There is so much going on with the cornbread that we didn’t taste the honey butter, but the bread has its own sweetness. This is great for sharing with a big group and we’ll be coming back for it. This is very different from the Walt Disney World cornbread that guests may be used to. There are kernels of corn that pop when you bite into them and large chunks of jalapeño.

Along with a main entertaining room featuring an indoor/outdoor rock fireplace, the Parr House will include an art studio, kitchen, dining room, boardroom and five bedrooms. It’s still very early days for the project and we suspect that it may be later in 2023 before Summer House officially welcomes its first guests to the Walt Disney World location. Slated to open at some point in 2023, Summer House on the Lake will feature a California-inspired menu with simple sustainable ingredients. The interior photo shared in the Summer House on the Lake announcement shows an off-white interior and an upscale dining feel.

You can tell that they put care into developing recipes for the items on the main menu. My main problem with this dish is the portion size. For more than $20, I would expect a side other than just arugula. There was a decent amount of chicken (it looks huge once it’s pounded flat), but someone with a large appetite or a person who was ONLY ordering an entree might be a bit disappointed. There are multiple dining areas throughout the restaurant. In the front, you’ll find an outdoor patio, a sunroom with a few high-top tables, and one of the two bars.
